2011 American Festival for the Arts Summer Concert Series presents the AFA World Premieres Concert, Friday, July 22, 2011, 7:00 pm, at Pershing Middle School.

Be sure to arrive early for a good seat at this performance, which is part of a tradition of collaboration between AFA and the Houston Ballet, now in it's fourteenth summer. The evening begins with a showcase of chamber music works written by AFA student composers and performed by AFA faculty artists and is followed by an offering of new ballets choreographed and performed by students of the Houston Ballet's Ben Stevenson Academy to the music of AFA's composers. Over 50 world premieres have been presented through the collaboration.

American Festival for the Arts (AFA) was founded in 1993 by Houston composer J. Todd Frazier to provide accessible, high-quality music education and performance opportunities for youth and to broaden the audience for both new American works and the standard classical music repertory.
