Galveston Arts Center is pleased to announce the Fourth Annual Swashbucklers’ Soiree will be hosted at the Texas Seaport Museum, home of the celebrated 1877 Tall Ship ELISSA on Saturday, July 23, 2011. This year’s pirate bash will include a silent auction, great food, ale for all and entertainment to shiver ye timbers! Doors will open to the public at 6:00 pm and bidding on silent auction items will continue until 8:30 pm. Admission will be $15 each at the door, $12 for GAC members. Pirate attire is encouraged!

Raffle tickets will be on sale at the event or may be purchased in advance at the Arts Center’s current location at the corner of 25th and Market Streets. Drawing for the raffle will take place at 9:00 pm. Galveston Mayor Joe “Jaws” Jaworski will serve as honorary chair of the event and will do the honor of drawing the winning raffle ticket. The grand prize is a 4-night Caribbean cruise for two adults. A second drawing will be held for an eighteen inch freshwater cultured 10mm black pearl necklace, courtesy of Vic’s Estate and Fine Jewelry. Raffle tickets are $20 each or 3 for $50.

The silent auction will feature donations from area vendors and specially decorated treasure chests by Galveston artists including Martha Terrill, Robert Clepper and Ann Wood. Railean Rum will soothe parched pirate throats with a signature Swashbuckler glog. Del Papa Distributors will provide Land Shark Lager for thirsty marauders. Galveston’s Lunchbox Café will be among those providing galley grub for hungry scallywags.
