Christen Sawyer is a 21 year old singer/songwriter out of Houston, Texas. She discovered her love for music early on, singing Tina Turner at the top of her lungs from her booster seat. In fact, her musical style stems from a very eclectic list of influences. From her dad's classic rock to her mom's country & pop, there was never any shortage of music around the house. That variety of musical background is what drew Christen’s attention to the “red dirt” style of music. Its edginess and rock-powered sounds were captivating.

In the summer of 2008 Christen made the hike up to Nashville to record her first demo CD with producer Mark Oliverius. The demo was a compilation of 3 songs, including the up-tempo “Crazy,” written by Sawyer. It even caught the attention of renowned Nashville music critic Bob Oermann of Music Row Magazine, who awarded Christen the DisCovery Award. In the start of 2009, Christen threw herself into the live music scene when she teamed up with Gerrie McDowell and promoted “Crazy” to Texas radio. This first single climbed the charts to #20 and Christen was hooked on the music biz.
