Film Screening: The Legend of Pale Male

Affectionately known to New Yorkers as Pale Male, this bird is not just any hawk, but a wild red-tailed hawk, a fierce predator. With his nest perched atop a posh 5th Avenue co-op, Pale Male started out as a novel curiosity, until the building dismantled his nest. In a wingbeat, media assembled to cover the unprecedented protest of birdwatchers, movie stars, poets, children, and late night comedy show hosts. What unfolds next, as they say, could happen only in New York.

Join Spirit, one of Houston's red-tailed hawks, and her foster mom Mary Anne Weber, both of the Houston Audubon, for the Houston premiere of The Legend of Pale Male.
