    The Greater Houston Partnership presents the Thought Leader Series, this month featuring John S. Watson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Chevron Corporation. The Thought Leader Series provides GHP Members an opportunity to listen and interact with innovative business experts from local industries.

    John S. Watson is chairman and chief executive officer of Chevron Corporation, a position he assumed on January 1, 2010. Watson joined Chevron in 1980 as a financial analyst. In 1998, he was elected a vice president of the corporation, with responsibility for strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions. In 2000, he led the company’s integration effort following the Chevron-Texaco merger and then became the corporation’s chief financial officer.

    In 2005, he was elected president of Chevron International Exploration and Production, with responsibility for the company’s exploration and production activities outside North America. In 2008, he was elected executive vice president for strategy and development.

    Watson is the chairman of the board of directors and the executive committee of the American Petroleum Institute. He is also a member of the National Petroleum Council, the Business Council, Business Roundtable, the J.P. Morgan International Council and the American Society of Corporate Executives.

    Parking: Hyatt Regency Houston offers several parking options for our guests' convenience:

    Overnight Valet Parking: $22.73 per night. Includes taxes and in/out privileges

    Self-Parking: $16.00 per day. This is a city-owned parking lot next door to the hotel. No in/out privileges.

    Limited parking for eight vans, maximum, is available in the hotel valet parking. All other vans, as well as motor homes and vehicles over 9' should park in the self-parking lot.
