The Ars Lyrica 2011-12 season of Transformations -- emotional, spiritual, physical, even intellectual - continues with Bach and Time,  Saturday, December 31.

Ars Lyrica’s annual New Year’s Eve concert has become a tradition for many Houstonians. On December 31, Ars Lyrica rings in 2012 with Bach and Time, a program that juxtaposes Bach’s beloved Suite in D (with its famous “Air on the G String”) against vocal works by the great Baroque master on the subject of time in its multiple dimensions, including a cantata on the idea of eternity and one for the new year. Soloists include soprano Melissa Givens, countertenor Ryland Angel, tenor Zach Averyt, and bass-baritone David Grogan.

Ars Lyrica’s annual New Year’s Eve Gala follows directly in the Hobby Center Founders Club, with champagne, delectable hors-d’oeuvres, and special musical entertainment you won’t want to miss!

    Scheduled Program:
    A seasonal all-Bach program:
Cantata 106 “Gottes Zeit ist die allerbeste Zeit”
“Orchestral” Suite No. 3 in D major
Christmas Oratorio, Pt. 5 (for New Year’s Day)
