Thursday, September 1 at 7:00pm, Blue Willow Bookshop presents Casserole Queens. The Casserole Queens will discuss and sign their new cookbook.

The Casserole Queens Cookbook features Crystal and Sandy's simple and delicious recipes, all made with fresh ingredients. The classic Chicken Pot Pie is brought up a notch with white wine and fresh tarragon, Damn Skinny Yankee Pot Roast won’t pack on the pounds, Mama Mia Lasagna is an Austin fave, Summer Halibu Dill is elegant and easy, and Mandarin Meatloaf is jazzed up with sweet mandarin oranges and hoisin sauce.

There are homestyle desserts, like Clementine Cake, and great brunch dishes, such as Texas Migas. The Queens also provide expert tips on freezing casseroles so that you can stock your freezer with go-to homemade dinners. With 16 color photographs, plenty of expert tips, and lots of retro style, The Casserole Queens Cookbook will be any home cook's handbook for making tasty meals any night of the week.

Crystal Cook and Sandy Pollack, the Casserole Queens, have been delivering casseroles in Austin, Texas, since 2006; they also teach cooking classes at Whole Foods and Central Market stores in the area. They have been featured on Food Network's Throwdown! with Bobby Flay, Bobby Flay Radio on Sirius XM, as well as local television news and radio talk shows.
