    The Center for Jewish Living and Learning at the Jewish Community Center of Houston and Rice University present  3rd Annual Rice University Jewish Studies Program Lecture Series: Revisiting the History of the Jews of Spain. Mondays, Sept 12, 19, 26 at 8:00 p.m.

    Join us for the third annual Rice University Jewish Studies Program Lecture Series at the Jewish Community Center. This series will revisit, through the disciplines of History and Literature, the unique experience of the Jews of Spain in the Medieval and Early Modern Period.

    September 12
    The Ladino Speakers: Language and Identity
    Lecture offered by Dr. Luisa Kluger, Lecturer at the Center for the Study of Languages

    September 19
    Images of Judaic Culture in Medieval and Early Modern Spanish Literature
    Lecture offered by Dr. Carl Atlee, Senior Lecturer at the Center for the Study of Languages

    September 26
    Convivencia between Jews, Christians, and Muslims in Medieval Spain
    Lecture offered by Dr. Maya Soifer Irish, Assistant Professor of History
