The Joe Sample Youth Organization, Inc. brings soulful melody to The Grand 1894 Opera House center stage on Saturday, September 10th as they present The 4th Annual Henriette Delille Legacy Concert at 8pm, benefitting Houston's inner city parochial schools. The concert will feature performances by The Jazz Crusaders (pictured), Houston's High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and The Joe Sample- David T. Walker Swing Street Jump Band.

Legendary jazz pianist Joe Sample created the non-profit Joe Sample Youth Organization, Inc. in 2005 to raise funds for his childhood school, along with other Catholic schools in the inner city after returning to his hometown of Houston. By organizing the now annual Henriette Delille (founder of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic School) Legacy Concert, Sample is proud to give back to his community. In the first three years, his small grassroots organization has given over $150,000 in desperately needed money to the schools involved.

The Saturday evening concert at The Grand is part of a weekend of fundraising events planned by the Joe Sample Youth Organization. Events will include a Friday Night Kick-Off Blues Jam featuring Luther & The Healers to be held at Moody Gardens; Saturday’s Legacy Concert at The Grand; an Artist Meet and Greet event at The Grand immediately following the concert; and an After Concert Dance featuring Ken Mondshine & Brotherhood Band and Live DJ – Money Mike to be held at Moody Gardens Hotel.
