    Have a hankering for some history? Buffalo Bayou Partnership invites you to sign up  for Looking Back: History Boat Tours on Buffalo Bayou.  Learn about Houston's rich history from local historian Louis Aulbach while cruising down the bayou.

    Buffalo Bayou Partnership invites you to take A LOOK BACK to the late 1800's, when Houston was founded, to learn about those important individuals and families along Buffalo Bayou who helped shape Houston.Listen, learn and enjoy the breeze aboard Buffalo Bayou Partnership's new pontoon boat.

    Louis Aulbach, local historian and author of (an in process book) Buffalo Bayou: An Echo of Houston's Wilderness Beginnings will be your guide.He will share stories of the Allen brothers, the founders of Houston, and provide historical information about places, people, animals and events along the bayou west and east of downtown including which families were first to settle in Houston, the first breweries of Buffalo Bayou, and early wildlife sightings.

    Dates:
    Saturday, October 1 (going east of downtown - 10am-noon)
    Saturday, November 5 (going west of downtown - 10am-noon)
    Saturday, December 3 (going east of downtown - 10am-noon)

    Reservations required.


    Allen's Landing on Buffalo Bayou

    Tickets:

    $40 per person (Heritage Society Members and Bayou Buddies receive a  buy one, get one free discount) Reservations are required (limited capacity of 21)

    Metered parking is available on Commerce Street (2-hour maximum) and paid parking is available at Spaghetti Warehouse.


    Times:

    Saturday, October 1 (going east of downtown - 10am-noon)
    Saturday, November 5 (going west of downtown - 10am-noon)
    Saturday, December 3 (going east of downtown - 10am-noon)

    Please arrive fifteen minutes prior to your scheduled tour at Allen's Landing Park, 1001 Commerce at Main Street.(on the other side of Main Street bridge from Spaghetti Warehouse).
