They, Who Sound & AvantGarden present They, Who Sound: Frode Gjerstad Trio + Damon Smith Solo, Thursday, August 25,  7:30pm - 9:30pm at Avant Garden. Another in a Houston series for experimental sound-making, improvised music, free jazz, underground noise, electro-acoustic performance, psychedelia, improvised dance, and "musique brut."

They, Who Sound's Monday series will be on a 1-month hiatus,  BUT, we have a very special world-class event: from Norway ....The Frode Gjerstad Trio

Featuring Houston favorites and free jazz heroes:

and the Houston debut of new trio member: Jon Rune Strom - double bass

"One Year in Houston" - first solo set in Houston
