Buchanan Gallery is pleased to present Water Works, a national juried exhibition featuring over 40 paintings and sculptures by 20 artists. Galveston ArtWalk opening Sat., August 27, 6-9 p.m.

Artists from around the country responded to our call for entries for art featuring water as a theme. Our jury selected the best, resulting in a diverse group of styles ranging from abstract to realistic, and media including oil, mixed media collage, glass and found objects. Subject matter is also diverse, including seascapes, beaches, Hill Country rivers, water birds and ships’ parts.

Celebrating the beauty of water and its crucial role in our lives has never seemed more important, given the long hot and dry summer we’ve had.

Exhibition continues through October 1, 2011.
