    Christ Church Cathedral Cloiser Gallery presents Rix Jennings: New Works. The exhibit will open Friday, September 9, 2011 from 5 to 7 PM, and will run from September 2nd to 29th.

    The two bodies of work represented are recent paper relief casts and small oil paintings. Mr. Jennings was part of the hand papermaking renaissance during the 70’s and devised an unusual process for forming fresh paper pulp into thin bas-relief, fossil-like forms that are revealed entirely by the way light falls on them.

    The paintings are examinations of our culture from a mythic perspective and explorations of process and gesture. Mr. Jennings has been a teacher in Visual Arts for 25 years at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.
