Experience the contemplative side of the world’s great religious traditions with guided meditations offering an opportunity for healing and spiritual development with Twelve Moments of Spirituality and Healing.

Wednesday, September 7 at 12pm: With Barbara Cowan, Live Oaks Friends Meeting.

In the Quaker tradition, meditation is that unique form of worship based on group silence. "For Quakers, wisdom begins in silence" out of the belief that "only when we have silenced our voices...can we hear the still small voice that dwells within each of us - the voice of God that speaks to us and that we express to others through our deeds. Only by listening in stillness for that voice and letting it guide our actions can we truly let our lives speak." (Robert Lawrence Smith)

Twelve Moments of Spirituality and Healing is co-sponsored by the Rothko Chapel, Jung Center of Houston, Ligmincha Texas Institute, and M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. Spiritual practice offers the possibility of physical and psychological health; it deepens a sense of meaning and connection to inner values.
