    Girlgang presents Tidal Economics, Tuesday, October 11, at 8pm at DiverseWorks ArtSpace.  TIDAL ECONOMICS: a reading on the subjects of dog worship, finance, car crashes, death, and baby-making.

    Tex Kerschen is a Houston based writer, musician, and curator. Founding member of the band Indian Jewelry. Tex Kerschen is a recipient of a 2011 Individual Artist Grant Award. This grant is funded by the City of Houston through the Houston Arts Alliance.

    From 1998 to 2004 he worked as a curator at the Artcar Museum and the Station. Exhibitions he organized have been written about in the New York Times, Art In America, the Christian Science Monitor, Glasstire, the Houston Press, the Houston Chronicle, and Texas Monthly among other publications.

    He is better-known for his work in the music group Indian Jewelry.

    Currently, he is currently working on “Tidal Economics” a collection of verse (ruled and unruled) arguments concerning the matters of dog worship, skull worship, vanity, working crap jobs, car crashes, baby-making, the effects of the moon on personal finance. This work draws on personal advice given the author by Alfred Jarry, Gertrude Stein, Andre Breton, Fernando Pessoa, Dawn Powell, Andy Warhol, Nicanor Parra, Wallace Berman, Longmont Potion Castle, Mark E. Smith, and Gibby Haynes as well as a succession of authors of unsolicited emails requesting the use of his bank account for
