Verizon Wireless Theater presents Deacons of Deadwood 2011 Charity Ball with Foghat

The Deacons of Deadwood Charity Ball is Open to the Public... No Motorcycle Required. If you love good music and good times join us for this fundraising event. And it's all for a great cause. The party will begin at Mo's Steak House located 1801 Post Oak Blvd, Houston 77056 at 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm. We will have pre-registration during this time. There will be a cash bar with light appetizers. All the motorcycles will begin to line up at 7:30 for the "Deadman's Parade." Perhaps the most exciting part of the party, we depart Mo's with 10 to 12 motorcycle police officers escorting us to the Verizon Wireless Theater located at 520 Texas Street, Houston 77002. There will be motorcycle parking in front of the venue and on the street. The venue has valet parking along with public parking.
Food will be served buffet style and catered by Demeris. You can purchase General Admission tickets or VIP tables are available. A "meet and greet" with Foghat will start sometime after 9:00 for VIP's only in the VIP Lounge in the basement. The opening dance band plays at 8pm- Foghat plays at 10:15pm.

Proceeds benifiet Camp For All, a unique camping and retreat facility that works in collaboration with other non-profits to provide life changing programs for children and adults with challenging illnesses and special needs.

Foghat began their career in 1971 as a bunch of rather unpretentious young Brits with an affection for American blues and '50s rock 'n' roll. By the middle of the decade, they had evolved into a major touring and recording act, playing a pumped-up brand of boogie-rock to arena-size audiences. Their looks grew flashier, their sound fattened and filled out, yet the roots-rock core of the band remained ever-present under the surface.

Lonesome Dave Peverett, Rod Price, Tony Stevens, and Roger Earl, the original founding band members, toured with their studio CD, "Return Of The Boogie Men" and the followup live CD "Road Cases" (with Bryan Basset replacing Rod Price in 1999) until Lonesome Dave's untimely death in 2000. They had returned to the basic blues/rock sound of 29 years ago. Even at their peak as hitmakers, that was the essence of the band's sound. They remained true believers at heart.
