Cypress Creek FACE and Ars Lyrica present Musical Alchemy Monday, November 14, 2011 at 7:30 PM.

Baroque violin sensation Ingrid Matthews joins Ars Lyrica favorites Colin St. Martin on traverso, Kathryn Montoya on Baroque oboe and recorder, and Matthew Dirst at the harpsichord for an evening of musical magic. The program will include: J. S. Bach, Brandenburg Concerto No. 5; J. G. Janisch, Quadro “O Haupt voll Blut und Wunden”; J. C. Bach, Quintet in D major, Op. 22, No. 1; and H. Purcell, Suite from The Fairy Queen.

Ars Lyrica, which means “lyric art,” specializes in music from the golden age of the 17th and 18th centuries, when all music aspired toward beautiful song. Based in Houston, this critically acclaimed ensemble of voices and instruments has delighted audiences and critics around the world with its superb performances and recordings.
