American Institute of Architects (AIA Houston)/Architecture Center Houston presents FROM RENDERING TO REALITY: Architectural Drawings from the Studio of Patrick Lopez, 1964 to 1995. Opening Reception Thursday November 10, 2011, 5:30 – 7:00pm.  On view through January 13, 2012.

The architectural renderings of Houstonian Patrick Lopez illustrate some of the best buildings of the twentieth century. In his richly varied career he has collaborated with Hines, Skidmore Owings and Merrill, Helmut Jahn, Johnson and Burgee, as well as numerous local firms. Through his talented eye and hand Lopez’s images show us the intention of the designers of our most iconic works.

This exhibition of Lopez’s original renderings is curated by local architect and academic Barry Moore, FAIA, and will feature a color catalogue with essay by Moore.

Lopez has donated his collected works to the Architectural Archives of the Houston Metropolitan Research Center at Houston Public Library’s Julia Ideson Building, they will be available to the public for study and reference.
