    Through a collaboration with Houston’s Brazos Bookstore, Gulf Coast is proud to present twenty-one readers from the University of Houston’s nationally-acclaimed graduate program in creative writing in the Gulf Coast Reading Series. Gulf Coast, a biannual journal featuring innovative fiction for the literary-minded, presents this reading series, bringing writers from the University of Houston Creative Writing Program to the ears of our city. Through the University of Houston's literary journal Gulf Coast, audiences around the world can experience the poetry and fiction of emerging authors.

    November 4, 2011:

    Andy Dimond is entering the third year of his MFA, in which our hero finally transcends the hardships of Parts I and II, returning to shock the world his thesis committee with a novel of revelatory brilliance adequacy. Visit his website for a closer look at his work, life, and whatnot.

    Kelly Moore earned her MFA from the University of Houston where she is currently pursuing a PhD in poetry. She has received a Collaboration among the Arts fellowship from the Mitchell Center at UH and an Inprint/Barthelme award in nonfiction. Her work has appeared in New Letters, Mid-American Review, American Letters and Commentary, and other publications.

    Michelle Oakes is a first-year MFA poetry student at the University of Houston. She comes to Texas by way of Missouri. From the day she arrived, Houston has felt like home.
