High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA) presents Encore 40!, Saturday, Oct. 15th, 2011 at 7 p.m. at the George R. Brown Convention Center.

Celebrating 40 years as an educational institution training emerging artists, HSPVA programs an evening of performances. Hosted by Houston-native Chandra Wilson, best known for her work as Miranda Bailey in Grey's Anatomy.

In its forty years HSPVA has nurtured incredible young talent by providing rigorous performance training and a challenging academic curriculum. The unique combination of talent from the school's art areas - vocal, instrumental, theatre, visual art, and dance - will culminate in this cherished celebration of the school's time-honored tradition of excellence.

Tickets:

Tickets range from $8 to $100. Tickets purchased in the $8 to $35 range (cash and checks accepted, no credit cards) must be purchased at the HSPVA Box Office. Tickets in the $55 and more price range can be purchased at http://www.seatyourself.biz/hspva.

Parking:

The George R. Brown now offers even more parking space with a new parking garage located at the corner of Polk Street and Avenida de las Americas. Conveniently connected to the GRBCC and the Hilton by Level 2 skywalks, parking couldnâ€™t be easier.

In addition, there are several privately owned surface lots surrounding the convention center. All are just a short walk away or across the street.
