Art opens doors to affordable housing in Houston. Avenue Community Development Corporation (Avenue CDC) presents the 15th Annual Art on the Avenue. Preview Night: Thursday, November 10, 2011. Auction and Party: Saturday, November 12, 2011. Our Honorary Chair for 2011 is Mayor Annise Parker!

A project of Avenue CDC and its biggest fundraiser, Art on the Avenue, features the work of more than 300 Texas artists, who graciously donate a portion of silent auction proceeds from their work back to the nonprofit organization.

Houston community leaders will use their artistic skills to help raise funds for Avenue CDC by decorating mailboxes as part of the auction. Participants this year include: Mayor Annise Parker, County Judge Ed Emmett and Gwen Emmett, Council Member Ed Gonzales, Dan Phillips, Natalye Appel, Chuck Schwarz, Val Glitch, Kelly Amen, Sheriff Adrian Garcia – Jr. Mounted Posse, and Houston METRO-Raequel Roberts, William Miller and Kathy Van Dewalli-Grand 1894 Opera House.

Thursday, November 10, 6 pm to 9 pm – first chance to view and purchase art!
Preview Party - $100 - includes admission to Saturday night event
