Sandra Organ Dance Company (Earthen Vessels: SODC) presents Si Se Puede (Yes We Can!), at Talento BIlingue de Houston, OCTOBER 21 & 22 at 7:30pm. A dance performance inspired by the legacy of César Chávez and the history of the migrant farm worker movement. With a new section exploring the problem of human trafficking.

“Si Se Puede” a program developed by Artistic Director, Sandra Organ Solis over three years with balletic vignettes based on the legacy of Cesar Chavez, famous Mexican American activist and leader. This thoughtful, enlightening presentation of dances and narration is educational, family friendly, full of images, and at times bilingual.

Cesar Chavez's history and achievements on behalf of migrant farm workers are chronicled, as well as an exploration of his spiritual pursuits. From his "Farm Workers' Prayer," to the newly incorporated " Misa Criolla" (a mass sung in Spanish) his nonviolent lifestyle also extended itself to advocating vegetarianism. A new section, called "Huelga Tarantella" explores the non violent ways that formed unions, forced changes and forged improvements for agricultural workers.

Si Se Puede witnesses the impact of the Power of One and is inspiring, empowering and rich in textures that celebrate this Mexican American hero.
