The Houston Metropolitan Dance Company (The Met) renowned for their technical virtuosity and fearless approach to new choreography, opens their season with an evening of 11 dance works, 11.11.11 The Concert on November 11, 2011 at the Cullen Theater Wortham Center located at 550 Prairie Street, 77002, at 8 p.m.

The Met Artistic Committee chose the title for the performance centered on the reprisal of Salim Galuwoos dramatic work, 11:11 concluding the entire performance program was a one of a kind performance for a one of a kind date.

The performance program features 11 dance pieces (premieres, full-length works and excerpts) performed solely by The Met. From The Met repertoire is an excerpt of the dramatic work, 11:11 by world-renowned choreographer Salim Galuwoos; a premiere, Air, from NYC-based choreographer Larry Keigwin which he will set on the company this month and a collection of four related works as yet untitled by Houston Met Resident Choreographer Kiki Lucas as well as a reset of her 2007 work, No Expectations; and an excerpt of Trouble Building Nests by jhon r. stronks. The evening also includes: To the line…a red carpet dance by Julie Fox; Jolt by Kiesha Lalama White; and Zoom by “the leading lady of jazz,” Pattie Obey.
