Join Alamo Drafthouse Mason (Katy) for Horror Remix: THANKSGIVING - 2 Hours of Turkey Terror!

If you're a fan of bad horror films, then you've wasted a lot of your life. You've sat through lame red herrings, endless chase scenes, shower scenes with NO nudity (it happens more than you think) and all the talking and talking and talking. A Horror Remix is taking a bad horror film, cutting out all the filler and condensing the central plot, gore, cheese and nudity into approx. 30-40 minutes.

When director Eli Roth created his faux trailer ‘Thanksgiving’ for GRINDHOUSE, he claimed his inspiration was to fill a void. All other holidays had at least one 80s slasher degrading it. All holidays, but Thanksgiving. Thankfully, Mr. Roth was dead wrong.

There are actual two 80s Thanksgiving slashers; HOME SWEET HOME (1981) and BLOOD RAGE (1983). These films have plenty of underrated and bizarre moments that are going to get the Horror Remix love they deserve.

We will be filling out the show with a movie that isn’t set at Thanksgiving- but DOES feature a wacked-out killer turkey- BLOOD FREAK (1972)! This one-of-a-kind mess-terpiece satisfies on every level: drugs, bikinis, motorcycles, blood, and turkeys.

And don’t forget, after each feature the snarky puppet MCs Cheesecake and Thunderclap do their damn thing! Join us for two hours of Turkey Terror that is not to be missed! (John Gross)
