Jesse H. Jones Park invites you to the 25th Anniversary Celebration of  Pioneer Day!  Sat., Nov. 12, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. This free family event demonstrates what life was like for early East Texas settlers and how they survived without modern day conveniences like refrigerators, gasoline-powered vehicles and electricity. 

Attendees will witness the "living history" of the 1830's Texas settler and American Indian livestyles at this special silver anniversary event showcasing survival skills and handicratfs of early inhabitants.

Hayride to the homestead for demonstrations including woodworking, leatherworking, making wood shingles, rail splitting, military drills, natural dyes, spinning and weaving, butter making, quill penmanship, school lessons, games, Indian lore, and more accompanied by live music.

Hands-on activities available for children, including craft making. All ages.
