On Friday, Nov. 18, 2010, the Lee College Performing Arts Center will echo with the rhythms of funk, jazz, and blues as the Bayou Big Band and the Lee College Jazz Ensemble host Jazz @ Lee College, a free concert featuring renowned jazz artist Marsha Frazier.

The concert opens at 7 p.m. with an Ensemble performance featuring arrangements including Herbie Hancock’s “Cantaloupe Island,” and Henry Mancini’s “A Cool Shade of Blue.” Lee College student Kevin Lewis will be featured in George Michael’s “Kissing a Fool,” and Paul Anka’s translation of the popular Nirvana track, “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”

The Bayou Big Band will take the stage at approximately 7:30 to perform arrangements including Joe LeBarbera’s “Dancing Men,” Duke Ellington’s “Do Nothin’ Til You Hear From Me,” and others.

A special performance by Marsha Frazier will also be featured.

Jazz @ Lee College will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, in the Main Performance Hall of the Lee College Performing Arts Center, located at 200 Lee Drive in Baytown. Admission is free.
