Children's Museum of Houston presents Seasons of Sharing: Hanukkah.  Children’s Museum of Houston celebrates the Jewish Festival of Lights with tinkering, tales, and timeless traditions December 8 – 14.

Hanukkah O Hanukkah, come light the menorah! Hanukkah celebrates the miracle Jewish people experienced after reclaiming the Temple of Jerusalem when a tiny amount of lamp oil lit up the Temple for eight days. This Festival of Lights is celebrated by lighting the Menorah for eight nights using the center candle (the shamash). It is a time of giving, prayer and togetherness. Our Hanukkah celebration is part of the Seasons of Sharing exhibit, Nov. 12 – Jan. 8. Seasons of Sharing celebrates holidays around the world.

    Special Events:

    • Olive Press Workshop: Rabbi Mendy from Chabad Lubavitch Outreach will lead a workshop about the traditions of the lights of Hanukkah in One World. Event Time: Dec. 8 at 5:30 p.m. during Free Family Night and Dec. 11 at 1 p.m.
    • Dan Gordon Storyteller: Listen to this master teller of tales as he delights you with extraordinary stories of Hanukkah in the Brown Auditorium. Event Time: Dec. 8 at 6:30 p.m. during Free Family Night and Dec. 10 at 2 p.m.

    On-Going Activities:
