The Grand 1894 Opera House welcomes back Kids' Entertainment for The Ugly Duckling and The Tortoise and the Hare on Monday, January 23rd. This production- part of The Grand's Serious Fun Children’s Series- will offer performances at 10am for school groups, as well as an evening performance – perfect for the entire family – at 7pm.

Audiences will delight in the Hans Christian Anderson's traditional story about personal transformation and acceptance in The Ugly Duckling as well as the famous Aesop Fable of the race between The Tortoise and the Hare, best known for teaching the moral that "slow and steady wins the race."

Suitable for children in grades Kindergarten through fourth, these beloved classics will utilize fascinating, three-dimensional electroluminescent wire puppets and props brought to life by three performers who are dressed in black. Each story will feature classical and contemporary music ranging from jazz to pop.

Offered again this season for the Serious Fun evening shows are pre-performance dinners of Hot Dogs or PB&J sandwiches (with side and drink) which will be available from 6-6:45pm in Edna’s Room at The Grand. An additional ticket is needed for the dinners and reservations are requested. Cost is $5 per person.
