Hooks-Epstein Galleries proudly continues its tradition of presenting innovative group exhibitions. The Book, a group exhibition of assemblage, drawings, paintings and photography inspired by or made form books, opens Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 11:00 to 5:00 p.m., with a reception for the artists from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The exhibition features locally, regionally and nationally known artists including: Julie Brook Alexander, Gregory Michael Carter, Eric Davis, Kathryn Dunlevie, Teresa Dunn, Jim Falick, Scott Gordon, Mayuko Ono Gray, Mark Greenwalt, Ann Johnson, Kelli Scott Kelley, Kurt Kemp, Bernard Mattox, Rahul Mitra, Kermit Oliver, Jacqueline Dee Parker, Christopher St. Leger, John Mark Sager, Ward Sanders, Rafael Villarreal and Kyle Young.

The artists were asked to create a work that could be inspired by a specific book of their choosing, a book character, a book theme, or made from books themselves.

Throughout the exhibition, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Berry Children’s Fund.

On December 3rd at 7pm, there will be a special appearance by members of The Houston Children’s Chorus, directed by Stephen Roddy.

The exhibition continues through January 7, 2012.
