Goode's Armadillo Palace presents Trey Clark.

Born in Nashville, TN, Trey Clark moved to Houston, Texas with his family at the age of 13. Trey has lived in Texas ever since and has been playing music professionally for nearly 20 years. Trey started cutting his teeth in the music scene at 15 years old. With 7 years of guitar experience, he started playing in several rock bands around the Houston area, including Metallic Co. – yes…a Metallica tribute band.

After graduating from the University of Houston, Trey left the full-time music scene and became a bar and restaurant manager for Landry’s and Saltgrass. When not working, Trey played and wrote constantly, building his repertoire and guitar skills. He left the restaurant business and began the Trey Clark band in 1999 and released his Debut CD, Broke and Busted. Classified as “Texas Country”, Broke and Busted was very much a depart from his earlier rock years and hit the scene with airplay immediately from many of the Texas music radio stations. He quickly became one of the busiest and well-known bands in the Greater Houston area, while building a following in the surrounding cities with Austin and College Station becoming frequent destinations for the band.

Trey won the Houston Press Reader’s choice award for “Best Overall Band” in Houston in 2002. In 2006, Trey released his second CD, Never Drift Home. The single, “Lost”, received regional airplay and allowed the band to venture out to new fans all over Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. Since then the band has averaged nearly 250 shows a year and has played every type of private event, festival, dance hall, rock venue and beer joint Texas has to offer. Trey is currently working on releasing his third CD in 2010. Trey’s original music has been classified as Texas Country, Southern Rock, Americana, and Red dirt. While the two existing CDs reflect this style, the band stays busy keeping their set list extremely diverse. On any given night, the band may cover anything from Tom Petty, Kings of Leon, Sublime, Jimmy Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Pat Green, The Doobie Brothers, Johnny Cash, Jason Mraz, Keith Urban, Bob Marley and countless others.

In fact, there are few genres in which Trey and his band don’t excel. As well as being a singer/songwriter, Trey is a skilled guitarist of many different styles. He often teams up with other artists as their lead guitarist; most notably with Houston vocal phenomenom Michael Flores and his unique brand of Latin and Reggae. Their duo side project opens their live performances to an even wider range. Trey also often takes the stage with Jason Cassidy and Sam Hundley, two of Houston’s most talented performers.

Come and see a live performance and you will quickly find out why Trey has become a favorite of so many fans and a mainstay for venues.
