Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts - UH and Project Row Houses present Communograph Sidewalk Talk: Parks, green spaces, and abandoned spaces in the Third Ward: Our green spaces, our health, Thursday,January 26, 6pm-8pm. LOCATION: Communograph House (PRH), 2505 Holman. Hosted by artist Rebecca Novak.

Wendell Taylor, PhD will present a talk about the relationship between physical activity and the environment titled, “Addressing Social Inequities in Physical Activity and the Environment: What’s Next?” and JD Green, Coordinator of Alabama Community Gardens, will talk about the history of Houston’s oldest community garden.

Following the talks, we will open the floor to Q & A, as well as an open discussion on open spaces – what is your vision for the future of green spaces in the Third Ward?

This is part of the Communograph: Mapping Community Through Creative Action series, a series focusing on the exploration of the grassroots creativity found in the Third Ward. This series aims to help evaluate how the Arts at University of Houston can become an intellectual resource, redirecting its academic facilities and assets towards strengthening connections within the immediate neighboring community.
