AHOY, MATEY! When Captain Braid Beard and his crew invite Jeremy Jacob to join their voyage, it’s the swashbuckling time of his life! No vegetables or table manners, and you get to have sword fights whenever you want. But Jeremy soon misses things like getting tucked into bed, goodnight kisses and story time.

    A heave-ho, blow-the-man-down tale you won’t want to miss!

Mark Adams returns to direct How I Became a Pirate after directing Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells at MST earlier this season. Claudia Dyle is the Music Director. Rodrick Randall (Schoolhouse Rock, Live (Tour)) plays Captain Braid Beard and Richard Romeo (The BFG) plays Jeremy Jacob. The rest of the cast includes Philip Hays, Jessica Knapp, Luke Wright, and Zack Varela.

The design team includes Jodi Bobrovsky (set design), Kathryn Eader (lighting design), Macy Perrone (costume design), Shawn W. St. John (sound design), and Tina Montgomery (properties design). Lauren Dolk is the Choreographer. Kevin Zahradnik is the Production Stage Manager.

Recommended for Pre-Kindergarten and up. No children under 3 allowed in the theater (including sleeping babies).

    Parking:

Parking at Chelsea Market is easy. There is a large parking lot behind the center. Should that be full, a pass through halfway up on the right will take you to an additional surface lot as well as street parking on Chelsea. The entrance to the parking lot can be found on the north side of the building next to the O'Rourke's Steak House.

Though parking at Chelsea Market is easy, getting there may be a challenge with the construction involved with the Soutwest Freeway Project. MST recommends that you allow plenty of time for detours and unexpected delays, as there is no late seating once the show starts.

Arriving early and planning on lunch or an afternoon treat at a Montrose eatery may solve the traffic blues.
