    Come prove big things do come in small packages! The Children’s Museum of Houston (CMH) welcomes the little ones to roam our halls freely and search for fun-filled activities during Mini Wonders Week, Feb. 9 – 15. Engage in a fun-filled week of problem-solving activities and idea-discovering at the exclusive Tot*Spot exhibit (for children 35 months and under) and throughout the Museum.

    On-Going Activities:

    • Exploring Slimes: Get your hands dirty with icky, goopy slime at Science Station.
    • What’s that Smell? Does it stink or is it fragrant? Dare to take a whiff at Junktion.
    • Slippery Surfaces: Slip and slide? Trip and fall? Explore friction at Junktion.
    • Nano Sand: Sand absorbs water, but this sand has been treated with a hydropohic coating, which repels it. Learn about nanotechnology at Junktion.
    • Chirping Birds: Listen to Houston’s native birds’ beautiful melodies at EcoStation.
    • Nest Engineering: Learn what great engineers birds are and how they can create unique, elaborate nests by playing a matching game at EcoStation.
    • A Field Guide to Native Birds: Biologists use these in the field all the time to identify birds and learn more about them. Make a take-home guide at EcoStation.
    • Baby’s Bath: Experience how families take care of each other at Tot*Spot.
    • Family Occupations: Identify what people wear to different jobs at Tot*Spot.
    • Making a Home: Decide what your family and home will look like at Tot*Spot.
    • Animal Family Match: Are animal and human families alike? Learn it at Tot*Spot.
    • Family Books: Experience what’s familiar and what’s new at Tot*Spot.
    • Estimation Jars: Estimation is a scientific tool. Learn how to apply it by guessing how much stuff is in jar.Event Time: 2 – 6 p.m. at the ExxonMobil Math Cart.

    Included with general Museum admission.

    General Museum Admission Rates Effective March 12, 2010:
    $8 per person
    $7 for seniors 65+

    Children under one and Museum Members receive free admission.

    Tues. – Sat.; 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.;
    Sun: Noon – 6 p.m.

    Free Family Night every Thursday 5 – 8 p.m.
