The Hideout at the Rodeo 2012: Kimberly Kelly

Kick up your heels at The Hideout, located on the east side of Reliant Astrodome. Look for the big white tent packed with dancers and up-and-coming and local-favorite country artists. The Hideout is open for those 21 and older. It’s your chance to hear some of the best-in-Texas music for just the price of admission to Reliant Park!

    Thursday, March 15:  Kimberly Kelly.

Central Texas native Kimberly Kelly is one talent who is creating a buzz not only in her home-town venues, but across the Lone Star State. Kimberly's debut album is highly anticipated by anyone who has had the pleasure to see her live performances. Kim grabs the attention of any and everyone within an earshot. She maintains that attention by intriguing the audience with her powerful commanding vocal ability, her charming southern drawl, and her witty humor on stage. Backed up by a group of musicians who are equally fun and talented, the full band collectively radiates spirit and energy that complements Kim's charisma effortlessly. This Heart of Texas ensemble is sure to tow the mark, and win over anyone willing to listen.

Demographic lines fade fast when Kimberly and the boys pull out some of their favorite cover tunes, varying from "Two More Bottles of Wine," an Emmylou Harris hit and Delbert McClinton original, to "Chain of Fools," a hit penned by the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. Not to confuse Kimberly Kelly as a cover band, she is an incredible songwriter, with a collection of originals that project her own life's impressions and endeavors. From her fun high-energy crowd favorites such as "Gravy Train," and "I's Foolin,'" to the heartfelt love story titled "The Best of Texas," which portrays the real experiences of an unlikely couple who found Texas to be their common ground.
