Alamo Drafthouse Mason (Katy) presents TROMA WEDNESDAYS. Calling all gore-hounds and b-movie weirdos, Mason Park gets a little weird every Wednesday.

We've teamed up with the fine folks at Troma Entertainment to bring Houston audiences a weekly injection of the bizarre with free screenings of films from Troma's catalog. That's nearly 40 years of independent film — featuring everything from horror to sci-fi to fantasy to the just plain nasty.

If you find yourself giggling at exploding heads, love copies amounts of prosthetic makeup on your actors and perk up when presented with the depraved, Mason Park is your destination for a Wednesday night featuring full-frontal freakiness.

The series is co-presented by The Lost Highway, your destination for B-movie reviews and cult films. Check back regularly to see what films are scheduled for future free screenings.

March 7: DEF BY TEMPTATION — James Bond III (seriously!) wrote, produced, directed and starred in this 1990 vampire film co-starring Kadeem Hardison, Bill Nunn and a little-known actor named Samuel L. Jackson! A beautiful woman (Cynthia Bond) kills every man she sleeps with - due to the fact that she's secretly a vampire who craves equal doses of blood and vengeance.

March 14: COMBAT SHOCK — Buddy Giovinazzo wrote and directed this 1986 film about an unemployed Vietnam veteran living in total poverty with his wife and deformed baby. As he struggles to land a job, the vet begins to lose his grip on sanity.
