    In economic times like these it is very common to be concerned about how you will raise working capital to fund your business venture. This workshop is designed to clear up some of the confusion of what funding sources are actually available, while assisting business owners to better understand the qualifications needed to apply for loans. Advantages and disadvantages of some of the options will also be reviewed.
    Beginning with a one-hour overview of the various kinds of funding, this information-based seminar will also include a panel of experts from a variety of financial and economic resource organizations.

    So come join our lively panel discussions and workshops lead by John Cruse of Small Business Talk, SCORE, ACCION TEXAS, Capitol One Bank, Members Choice Credit Union and representatives of the SBA.

    Questions addressed in the presentation or panel will include:
    - What types of loans and venture funding are available?
    - Are grants an option? Do I qualify?
    - How much of my own capital do I need to put down to acquire funds from a traditional bank?
    - Is a business plan really necessary to get a loan?
    - How high does my credit score have to be to be considered a “good risk”?
    - What role does the SBA play in facilitating loans?
    - What is the difference between a direct loan and an equity investment program?
    - Is there any current legislation that is working to assist small businesses have improved access to capital?
    - Are there any loans specially designed for veterans, minorities or special interest groups?
