    Cooking with Pisco Portón

    Considered to be one of the world’s most exceptional gastronomical experiences, Peruvian cooking has developed a big following in Houston. Local restaurant, Latin Bites Cebiche & Pisco Bar, recognized as Houston’s ‘Best New Restaurant’ in 2010 by the Houston Chronicle, is leading the way.

    Considered to be one of the world’s most exceptional gastronomical experiences, Peruvian cooking has developed a big following in Houston. Local restaurant, Latin Bites Cebiche & Pisco Bar, recognized as Houston’s ‘Best New Restaurant’ in 2010 by the Houston Chronicle, is leading the way.

    The restaurant will host a Cooking with Pisco Portón dinner on Monday, June 11th. Chef Roberto Castre has created a six-course menu that will be paired with Pisco Portón, whose distillery is the oldest in Peru dating back to 1684. Each course will be presented with creative cocktails using each style of Pisco.

    A special treat will be in store for guests as Pisco Portón’s Chief Operating Officer, Jean-Francois Bonneté, will be in attendance. Cost for the event is $80. For reservations, please call 713. 229.8369.

    Cooking with Pisco Portón Dinner Pairing Menu:

    First Course:
    Amuse-Bouche

    Second Course:
    Fresh Endive Salad served with chicken salad (apples, almonds, cranberries, choclo, and queso fresco), over a cilantro basil causita.

    Third Course:
    Peruvian-Chinese style tuna tiradito, infused in aji amarillo and served in wonton strips with sauce and sweet potato.

    Fourth Course:
    Home-made tart served with Aji de Gallina (shredded chicken in a savory aji amarillo cream sauce) and rocoto foam.

    Fifth Course:
    Corn cake filled with lomo saltado and crispy chorizo.

    Sixth Course:
    Guanabana Tres Leches
