The 48 Hour Film Project is an exciting fast paced independent filmmaking competition which encourages filmmakers to get out there and make a film rather than talk about making a film.  In cities around the world, teams of filmmakers race the clock to make a film in a single weekend.  The 48 Hour Film Project challenges local filmmakers to create their masterpiece in a single weekend. All creative activity - writing, filming, editing, scoring - must be completed in these 48 hours. Teams are given a character, prop, line of dialogue and genre - the rest is up to them.

The 48 Hour Film Project for 2012 comes to Houston on the weekend of June 8 - 10, 2012. Filmmakers from all over the Houston area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world.
