The Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark presents the Skate & Rock Free Concert Series, at the  Lee & Joe Jamail Skate Park.

The premise behind the concerts is skateboarding and Rock & Roll have always been connected at the hip. Therefore, it only made since to formalize it in a free concert series format. The other key reason is to create a way to expose young skaters to some great live music and possibly inspire them to start their own bands.

This is the third of three concerts presented by Scion. The Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark is much more than a skatepark…it is one of Houston’s best parks to view a live concert. The energy of the skaters interacting with musicians, and the Houston skyline providing their backdrop is a sensory overload experience.

The definition of Timeless: The Hates and Houston Skateboarding…1982 vs. 2012 the more things change the more things stay the same.

The final show of the Third Annual Skate & Rock Free Concert Series will be Saturday, June 23rd, Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark, 7-9 p.m., The Dead Revolt, Omotai, and The Hates. The final show will be a punk rock pool party. The stage for this show will be next to the replica swimming pool (Drew’s Bowl). The energy between the pool skaters and the musicians will be palatable, and is must see entertainment.
