    Tuesday Tea + Tour Series at MFAH

    The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston presents Tuesday Tea + Tour Series in June and July at the MFAH Museum visitors to enjoy traditions of English and Japanese tea service alongside extraordinary art collections.

    The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston presents Tuesday Tea + Tour Series in June and July at the MFAH Museum visitors to enjoy traditions of English and Japanese tea service alongside extraordinary art collections.

    Experience the traditions of tea on Tuesdays at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. These afternoon events are presented in celebration of the exhibitions Rembrandt, Van Dyck, Gainsborough: The Treasures of Kenwood House, London and Unrivalled Splendor: The Kimiko and John Powers Collection of Japanese Art.

    Whether your taste is for high English fare or for the ceremony of the Japanese “way of tea,” each is accompanied by an assortment of beverages as well as savory and sweet treats. Each seating for tea service requires a ticket and is paired with a 20-minute, docent-led highlights tour of the featured exhibition, starting every half hour from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

    Tea service is led by the only Certified Tea Master  in Texas: Thia McKann from Houston’s The Path of Tea, exclusive tea partner  for these events. The exquisite settings for “Tuesday Tea + Tour” at the MFAH are provided by Aztec Events & Tents along with floral partner Jonathan Andrew Sage.

    When & Where “Tuesday Tea + Tour” occurs on eight consecutive Tuesdays, June 12 to July 31.  All guests participating in “Tuesday Tea + Tour” are encouraged to arrive at 3 p.m. Depending on the seating reservation, tea service will either precede or follow viewing of the exhibition and the highlights tour.

    Seated tea service includes an assortment of savory and sweet treats, a glass of sparkling wine, and a 20-minute highlights tour of the exhibition, located in the MFAH Audrey Jones Beck Building (second floor), 5601 Main Street.

    • 3 p.m. tour & exhibition viewing / 4 p.m. tea seating

    “Tuesday Tea + Tour” Unrivalled Splendor:  The Kimiko and John Powers Collection of Japanese Art
    Seated tea service includes an assortment of savory and sweet treats, a “choko”  of sake, and a 20-minute highlights tour of the exhibition, located in the MFAH Caroline Wiess Law Building (second floor), 1001 Bissonnet Street.
    Tuesdays: July 10, 17, 24, 31

    Parking:

    Free outdoor parking is available in the street-level lot directly across from the Law Building at 1001 Bissonnet Street.

    Parking is available in the MFAH Parking Garage for $6. The easy-to-find parking garage is located directly east of the Beck and Law buildings on Binz, and is marked by a large, yellow arrow.
