    The Music Department at the University of St. Thomas and Trio Oriens present a Recital of Trio Oriens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 2 in UST Cullen Hall.

    The Trio Oriens draws together three outstanding musicians from the island nation of Taiwan. Debut in the spring of 2010, they soon became one of the most active chamber ensembles in Houston...

    The Music Department at the University of St. Thomas and Trio Oriens present a Recital of Trio Oriens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 2 in UST Cullen Hall.

    The Trio Oriens draws together three outstanding musicians from the island nation of Taiwan. Debut in the spring of 2010, they soon became one of the most active chamber ensembles in Houston area.

    Recognized for their intelligent artistry, Trio Oriens bring innovative programs and diverse repertoire to their audiences. Specialisms include a historically informed approach to classical period works, Taiwanese/ Chinese music, Latin America and contemporary compositions.

    Trio Oriens is committed to ensemble collaboration with outstanding musicians and devoted with community outreaches in local schools, nursing homes, churches and hospitals. Their guest artists from last season include Richard Nunemaker, Franca Ma, Carla Hammock and Wei-Wei Wang.

    In addition to their bi-annual concerts, Trio Oriens is working on their first recording project and planning on concert tours to Asia and South America. They are recently invited to be on faculty for Interharmony International summer festival in Germany.

    Sheng: Four Movements for Piano Trio
    Ravel: Trio in A minor
    Bruch: Eight Pieces for Violin, Cello and Piano, Op. 83
