    The Word Around Town (W.A.T.) Poetry Tour is now in its seventh year. This 7 day tour focuses its attention on a solid line-up of Houston’s best and brightest poets united to share their talent and energy.

    Imagine all that poetry, all that talent and drive, for FREE.

    The Word Around Town (W.A.T.) was originally put together, six years ago, as a poetry tour by three noteworthy Houston area poets: Zelene Pineda, Joe B and Stephen Gros. Pineda wanted to find a way to celebrate and exhibit Houston’s varied and talented poets and highlight the venues that support them.

    Their mission was to introduce poets to different venues and to new audiences in the Houston area. This ambitious endeavor resulted in a week-long poetry marathon, seven days, seven shows, seven different venues.

    Participating poets continue to range in styles from academic, slam, spoken word and experimental.
