    AIA Houston and Architecture Center Houston in partnership with  Buffalo Bayou Partnership, C2 Creative, and Houston Downtown Management District present the 4th Annual Gingerbread Build-Off, Hermann Square at City Hall, Saturday, December 8, 10am-3pm (Awards at 4pm). Gingerbread Build-Off Exhibition December 10 – 14, Architecture Center Houston, 315 Capitol, Suite 120, Houston, TX 77002.

    Architecture Center Houston (ArCH) in partnership with Buffalo Bayou Partnership, C2 Creative, and Houston Downtown Management District is now accepting team registrations and sponsors for the 4th Annual Gingerbread Build-Off at City Hall’s Hermann Square December 8, 2012.

    Competing teams will create their masterpieces using 100% edible materials. More than 3,000 spectators are expected to attend and cheer on the teams, play in the kids’ construction zone, and see Santa!

    Team Registration is open to local architecture firms, design professional, students, and enthusiasts seeking the coveted Grand Prix de Show for their edible structure. Additional awards will be given in categories including 1st and 2nd Runner Up, Best Architectural Icon, Tallest Standing Structure, Best Traditionally Themed, Best Non-Traditionally Themed, Most Creative Interpretation of Materials, and Public Favorite.

    Gingerbread buildings will be judged by an independent panel of food, design, art, and architecture professionals.

    Following the Build-Off, winners and select competitors will be featured in a one week exhibition December 10-14, free and open to the public at ArCH at 315 Capitol, Suite 120, Houston Texas 77002. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 3pm. Parking is available at the Hobby Center Parking Garage.
