    The 23rd Annual Houston Press Music Awards Showcase presented by Yellow Cab is once again celebrating the city's local music scene on Sunday, August 5 in east downtown.

    The 23rd Annual Houston Press Music Awards Showcase presented by Yellow Cab is once again celebrating the city's local music scene on Sunday, August 5 in east downtown.

    Over 150 local Houston bands have been nominated to receive a Houston Press Music Award and of those bands, 50 have been selected to perform. The Showcase, a roaming music festival, will take place across 10 venues including Warehouse Live and House of Blues. General Admission tickets ($10) and VIP tickets ($50) are available.

    Voting closes on midnight on August 5th. The winners of the showcase will be announced at the 2012 Music Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, August 8.     Participating Venues include: Ben's Beans, Dirt Bar, House of Blues Crossroads Stage, House of Blues Bronze Peacock Room, Lucky's Pub, Lucky Strike Lanes, Pete's Dueling Piano Bar, Phul Court, Reserve 101, Warehouse Live Studio and a DJ after party at Jet Lounge.

    Admission Info:

    Big Shot Tickets: Includes access to the VIP lounge, two complimentary drink tickets for use in the VIP room courtesy of Houston Press, access to the bands' greenroom with light bites, commemorative event poster and, of course, access to all other Showcase venues. Ticket Price: $50

    General Admission: Includes access to each of the 10 participating Showcase venues and live performances from over 50 local bands. Ticket Price: $10
