    The Rothko Chapel presents Cocktails & Curry, Sunday, September 9, 5pm-7pm, at Indika, 516 Westheimer.

    Author and journalist Eric Weiner, author of Man Seeks God: My Flirtations with the Divine, will appear at this season opening party. Held at Indika following Eric Weiner’s presentation Eric Weiner on His Life Changing Spiritual Journey at the Chapel on Sunday, September 9, this festive gathering will include delicious food & cocktails! Proceeds will go toward the Rothko Mindful Living series and will help support an array of inspirational speakers and meaningful workshops beings presented at the Chapel during the 2012-2013 season.

    His spiritual journey began in a hospital bed, where a nurse asked him if he had “found his God yet.” Facing his own mortality and spurred by the question, Weiner travels the world, sampling religion and spirituality and hoping to come to a personal understanding of the divine.

    Weiner’s questions are shared by many—Where do we come from? What happens when we die? How should we live our lives?—but his humor is all his own.
