    Discovery Green presents The Houston Margarita Festival (HMF), Saturday, October, 13, 2012 @ Discovery Green Park - the ultimate celebration of the margarita!

    The Houston Margarita Festival is the ultimate celebration of Houston's favorite mixed drink, the margarita! With over 300 restaurants and bars in the Houston area serving margaritas daily, Houston is arguably the margarita capital of the world.

    The event will showcase a wide variety of local Mexican, barbeque, seafood, and Cajun cuisine, as well as an exotic selection of margaritas in Houston.

    Festivalgoers will enjoy live music from local acts such as the Mambo Jazz Kings, Texas Brass Band, Salmerum, Tony Henry, The Marc Bode Trio, Step Rideau and Zydeco Outlaws, Cass, and more.

    Salsa Eddy, owner of the Houston Dance Factory, will be conducting a salsa-dancing contest for couples.

    A limbo competition will also be held, encouraging individuals and couples alike to compete for prizes.

    Local vendors will sell merchandise as patrons sample unique concoctions such as wine, jalapeno, cucumber, and low-calorie margaritas, beer, or wine.

    The Houston Margarita Festival is 21+ only with tickets for $15 pre-sale. The first 1,500 people to attend will receive a free festival t-shirt. Tickets at the door are $25, with designated driver tickets being offered for $10. VIP tickets may be purchased for $60 and offer early entry, free food, and seating. All tickets may be purchased via the Houston Margarita Festival website, GoldStar, Houston Press, Fiesta, or Groupon.

    The Wave jitney will be onsite at parking lots H and C to provide safe transportation for festivalgoers.

    Admission Info:

    Drink Tickets: Drink tickets are only sold at the event. Margaritas, mixed drinks, beer, wine, water, and soda will be at the festival.

    Designated Driver Ticket - $10
    General Admission Ticket - $15 Pre-sale

    Eat, Seat, Drink Cheap Ticket      - $60 Pre-sale
    ESDC Ticket holders will be admitted an hour early, 11:00am. ESDC Ticket also includes access to reserved VIP lounges with seating, free food, free non-alcoholic beverages, and access to the $1 Bar that's only available in VIP.

    *This is a 21+ ONLY event. Only those 21+ with valid photo ID will be admitted. For the safety of everyone at the festival, no infants, strollers, or pets will be allowed—no exceptions. Please plan accordingly.

      This event was a bust! I bought VIP seating in advance and there wasn't any "lounge" seating, there were maybe 15 chairs for 100+people. There weren't any margaritas when we first got there in the... Expand
