A New Holiday Tradition: TXU Energy Presents Zoo Lights at the Houston Zoo! This holiday season, you won't want to miss our newest event...
For this special night-time spectacular, the Houston Zoo will be transformed into a winter wonderland, filled with brilliant displays of colorful lights and festive holiday music.
Zoo Lights Attractions
Enjoy the sights and sounds of Holly Berry, the 1958 Cadillac that features vibrant lights that dance in time to joyful music. Marvel at the whimsical contraptions of Emry Gweldig’s Wondrous Keep, mysterious inventions designed to alleviate or reduce holiday stress.
Take a holiday family portrait at The Angel Bench or pose at The Greeting Card.
Sip hot chocolate and apple cider, decorate your own gingerbread man and enjoy a Zoo Lights menu of funnel cakes, fresh baked cinnamon rolls, sugar pecans and assorted fudge while you stroll through twinkling lights adorning magnificent live oak trees, whimsical colorful displays, and the life-sized illuminated sculptures of The Animal Parade in The Yucca Forest..
Zoo Lights will also illuminate the tiger, lion, rhino, giraffe, African wild dog, and ankole cattle exhibits. Stroll indoors and visit Natural Encounters, The Reptile House, and the Kipp Aquarium.
Please note that some indoor exhibits may be closed periodically for private events.
Each night of TXU Energy Presents Zoo Lights will feature special performances by area church, school and community choirs. The opening night of Zoo Lights will feature the Quarter Notes Girl Scout Choir.
In the nights to follow guests will be treated to performances by Texas Stars Youth Choir (November 30), Rice Philharmonics (Decenter 1), MD Anderson Cancer Center Employee Choir (December 2), Docapella from Baylor College of Medicine (December 19), and school choirs from across the area.
