    Inaugural UNICEF Audrey Hepburn Society Ball

    On Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, the U.S. Fund for UNICEF will host its Inaugural UNICEF Audrey Hepburn® Society Ball, a white-tie dinner celebrating UNICEF’s work to save and improve children’s lives, as well as a tribute to outstanding humanitarian leaders.

    On Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, the U.S. Fund for UNICEF will host its Inaugural UNICEF Audrey Hepburn® Society Ball, a white-tie dinner celebrating UNICEF’s work to save and improve children’s lives, as well as a tribute to outstanding humanitarian leaders.

    During the evening, the Audrey Hepburn® Society Philanthropist of the Year Award will be presented to Houston philanthropist Margaret Alkek Williams for her charitable giving in the Houston community and abroad, and for her induction into the Audrey Circle, the highest level of UNICEF’s Audrey Hepburn® Society. Sean Ferrer, Audrey Hepburn’s son and chair of the Society, will present the award to Ms. Williams at the event.

    The U.S. Fund for UNICEF will create a special award in her honor of Ms. Williams – the Margaret Alkek Williams Humanitarian Award – to be given annually to deserving philanthropic leaders at future Audrey Hepburn® Society Balls in Houston.

    Joanne King Herring is the honorary chair of the event, which will be emceed by actor Jesse Metcalfe.

    The evening will include performances by The Houston Ballet, Musicians of the Houston Symphony, The Houston Grand Opera Chorus.
