Ladies Choice Concert Series: Mint Condition, Lyfe Jennings & Sentury

Arena Theatre presents Ladies Choice Concert Series: Mint Condition, Lyfe Jennings & Sentury.

Mint Condition is an American R&B band from Saint Paul, Minnesota. Formed in the mid 1980s at Central High School in Saint Paul, Minnesota, its original members were Stokley Williams (lead vocals, drums, percussion), Homer O'Dell (guitar), Larry Waddell (keyboards, piano), Roger Lynch son of Roger Troutman, Ray Coleman and Kenny Young. Lynch, Coleman and Young all left the group however and were replaced by schoolmates Keri Lewis (keyboards, synthesizer) and Jeffrey Allen (saxophone, keyboards) and also joining Ricky Kinchen (bass guitar) a Chicago native.

Currently, the line-up of Williams, O'Dell, Waddell, Allen, and Kinchen remains intact, with the exception of Lewis, who left the group to focus on his marriage to Toni Braxton and produce for her and other artists. The group is well known for its diverse musical style (able to play anything from traditional jazz stylings to mainstream R&B and rock-based music to funk grooves and even Latin and Jamaican-based rhythms) and also its captivating live performances.

The band is also well known for their well written and produced R&B ballads, mainly in the 1990s. They are mostly known for their hits "Breakin' My Heart (Pretty Brown Eyes)" (1991) and "What Kind of Man Would I Be" (1996).

Lyfe Jennings is a platinum-selling American R&B and soul singer-songwriter, record producer, and instrumentalist. He plays the guitar, bass, and piano which he integrates into his music. The New York Times referred to him as a "socially minded R&B singer".

His love for music led him to join a group that included two of his cousins and his older brother. After splitting, Lyfe continued his interest in music. As stated in the songs "Ghetto Superman" and "More Than A Girl" from The Phoenix, Lyfe lost his father at a young age. Lyfe went to prison for ten years at the age of 14.

Sentury is a group for the new millennium. Manipulating the strong bass of R&B, the cool tones of jazz, and the explosive mood of pop, the group Sentury has taken music to another level. This group is jam-packed with great looks, showcase dance moves, and an amazing harmony.

Though the members of Sentury recognized their talents at different times, they have come together for one purpose: to entertain and bring their musical style for the world to enjoy. These amazing stage performers will bring audiences to their feet with their air of exuberance. Sentury mesmerizes the audience with their vocal abilities, signature dance performances, and dominating stage presence.

This group is filled with strong vocals and captivating stage performances that will be sure to set a high standard of quality in the music industry. Please allow CJ, Leo, AJ, and Rico to take you to the next Sentury.
