Natural beauty and history are combined in this unique setting located along the banks of Spring Creek. Jones Park is a window into a vast floodplain forest habitat in southeast Texas.

Explore diverse ecosystems including ancient cypress bogs, natural white sand beaches and wildflower meadows. Jones Park staff and volunteers offer a variety of guided tours and free programming ranging from the lifestyles and customs of local Indian tribes and pioneer settlers to the environmental benefits of this natural setting.

Volunteers showcase their talents at several annual festivals held in the Redbud Hill Homestead and Akokisa Indian Village. The two largest festivals are Texas Heritage Day in the Spring and Pioneer Day the first Saturday in November.

The staff at Jones Park leads a variety of environmental education tours and programs.

Jones Park is rich in natural beauty and provides many recreational opportunities for thousands of visitors each year. These popular trips are offered free of charge by reservation in the spring, fall, and winter.

Historical and cultural displays, located in the Nature Center, highlight the lifestyles of the Akokisa Indians and early pioneer settlers. Nature Center exhibits also offer a glimpse into the diverse ecosystem of Jones Park with a collection of live and taxidermic native wildlife.

More than five miles of paved, all-weather trails, and boardwalks are wheelchair and stroller accessible.

Special programs offering hands-on activities are arranged for community, school, and scouting organizations. Learn about the day-to-day life of the Akokisa Indians and Texas settlers with demonstrations of woodworking, blacksmithing, corn grinding, and other skills necessary for survival in the early 1800s.
